YOGI TEA® Matcha Lemon Green Tea combines the knowledge of Ayurvedic plants with the Buddhist art of green tea. Green and tender tips of tencha, protected from the sun during their last weeks in order to acquire their delicate, fresh and sweet flavor, have been mixed with precious Matcha which has been used since the dawn of time by Buddhist monks as a refreshment during their long meditations. Fruity lemongrass and sparkling lime complete this delicious blend and provide a truly exceptional taste experience. The subtle message of this infusion is: “Go through the day with freshness and harmony. »

Composition

green tea* , (Tencha*, Sencha*, Matcha*), lime*, liquorice*, lemongrass*, peppermint*, black pepper*, dried lemon juice*, guarana*, lemon essential oil*, lemon verbena *, lemon zest*, ginger*

Sencha green tea

Sencha , the green tea we use in our compositions, is also considered "the royal variety of green teas". It combines the most beneficial properties of green tea and is characterized by a fresh and pronounced taste.

Matcha

Once reserved for the Japanese elite, Matcha tea is still one of the noblest varieties of tea today. In a laborious process, the leaves of the Tencha tea tree, protected from the sun before harvesting, are transformed into a particularly fine powder called Matcha. This powder is characterized by an emerald green color and a sweet and sparkling taste.

Tencha green tea

Tencha is one of the most valuable tea varieties in Japan. The leaves of Tencha tea characterized by an intense green color and serving as a basis for the development of Matcha tea constitute only 1% of the local harvest of this tea. A laborious transformation process gives Tencha its quality of excellence – from maturing in the shade to drying in special drying ovens.

Lime

Limes are the tangier cousins of lemons. Crusaders would have brought it to the Middle Ages in Southern Europe. Their pulp is so acidic that limes cannot be eaten as they are, but serve as a refreshing ingredient in drinks and dishes.

Licorice

Licorice, an essential component in the manufacture of a confectionery bearing the same name, has been known since antiquity. Its sweetening power is 50 times higher than that of sugar, its taste is mild, sweet, bitter and harsh.

Lemongrass

Lemongrass contains essential oils and is characterized by a powerful, sparkling and lemony taste. Used mainly in Asian cuisine, the origin of lemongrass, belonging to the Gramineae family, remains unknown until today.

Black pepper

Also known as the "king of spices", black pepper is today, besides salt, the main condiment in the world. Originating from the Malabar Coast of India, its intensely aromatic taste ranges from slightly spicy to pungent.

Pepper mint

Discovered in 1696, peppermint, probably the result of a hazardous cross between water mint and wild mint, is today one of the best-known plants in the world. Due to its sparkling aroma with notes that are both subtly pungent and pleasant, peppermint is loved all over the world.

Guarana

Guarana is a plant native to the Amazon which the Guarani say contains the strength of a superior divine entity. It grows like a vine, can reach a height of almost 12 meters and belongs to the Sapindaceae family. Its reddish orange fruits are characterized by a slightly bitter taste.

lemon verbena

Also known as Venus grass, verbena was introduced to Europe only at the end of the 18th century. It is native to South America, where it enjoys optimal sunshine. Lemon verbena belongs to the Verbenaceae family and contains valuable essential oils.

Ginger

Whether used in Christmas cookies, in curries or in the form of lemonade: bulbous ginger is one of the best-known aromatic plants worldwide. Cultivated for millennia in tropical conditions in East Asia, it embellishes a large number of YOGI TEA® varieties with its fruity, pungent, aromatic and spicy flavors.

Lemon zest

The aroma of the zest of the lemon tree fruit native to India resembles that of the tangy pulp it protects. Lemon enhances Mediterranean dishes, desserts or herbal infusions with its slightly bitter, fruity and sparkling notes.

Usage tips

Pour 250ml of boiling water over the bag and steep for 5-6 minutes, or longer for a stronger taste.
